Does Isaac know the truth?
HAS ISAAC WORKED OUT THAT PATRICK IS HIS FATHER?
Isaac gets one step closer to figuring out the truth about his parentage this week, when Patrick drops a big hint that he is his biological father!
Although Patrick has been in on the secret for the past couple of months, his wife Sheree has insisted that they continue to keep the facts hidden from their son. But following Patrick’s faux pas, Isaac wants answers – so he confronts his mother and demands the truth…
“Isaac begins to suspect that this man could be his father, but he needs to hear it from his mum,” shares Stevie Basaula, who plays Isaac. “It just doesn’t fit straight for Isaac, so he goes on a quest to find the missing pieces. He speaks to Denise, and she says some things to him regarding Patrick, and him going to Trinidad every year. That’s when Isaac finally decides to speak to Sheree.”
Sadly, the relationship between Isaac and his secret dad hasn’t been great since they first met. Add that to the fact Isaac idolises Sheree’s late husband Eamonn, the man he believes to be his dad, and it’s no wonder Sheree is keen to keep the truth hidden.
“Patrick is just the latest in a long line of men who’ve come along and tried to be Isaac’s stepdad,” explains Stevie.
“And Isaac finds Patrick a bit overbearing – he’s too eager. It wouldn’t be a problem if Isaac didn’t feel threatened – but he wants the love of his mum, so he sees Patrick as a threat.”
The tension increases as Sheree celebrates her birthday, and her husband surprises her with a trip to Trinidad. In contrast to the lavish gift, Isaac presents her with a thoughtful family photograph – featuring him, his mother, and Eamonn – leaving Sheree uncomfortable.
But surprisingly, Patrick and Isaac end up bonding as they celebrate with Sheree. And it’s at that moment Patrick lets his guard slip, leaving Isaac highly suspicious…
“Somebody else mentions that the two of them are alike,” reveals Stevie. “Then they’re having a laugh together, and Patrick says, ‘Don’t you think we’re similar?’ And Isaac’s like, ‘Nah’, he kind of brushes it off. But it gets him wondering ‘What’s going on here?’”
Convinced his mum is hiding something, Isaac confides in Denise about his suspicions – prompting Denise to hatch a plan! However, Isaac decides to go straight to the horse’s mouth, and demands that his mother tells him the truth…
So will Sheree take the opportunity to reveal all about their real relationship with Patrick? And if so, how will Isaac react to the bombshell?
