“The gigantic can of worms is finally opened!”

WILL HE BE ABLE TO FORGIVE MANDY FOR ALL HER LIES?

- Lisa Riley

Vinny is in for a huge shock this week, as he finds out that his new best mate – the mysterious ‘Alex’ – is actually his dad, Paul!

Vinny is lost for words when he barges into the Dingles’ place to find Mandy and ‘Alex’ having a scrap. Despite Mandy’s desperate attempts to throw Vinny off the scent, Alex reveals his true identity – he’s actually Vinny’s father!

“The gigantic can of worms is finally opened,” laughs Lisa Riley, who plays Mandy. “But Vinny is so hurt that Mandy has lied to him and now she has to prove the reason why. Mandy tries to explain, but Vinny storms out. Mandy is petrified that she’s lost her son for good!”

Vinny has unknowingly been building a relationship with his dad at the scrapyard for weeks. And Lisa tells us that it was only Mandy’s feelings of jealousy that led her to realise what was really going on.

“It’s Lydia who planted the seed, saying that Vinny might have a new love interest,” Lisa reminds us. “So Mandy logged into Vinny’s Facebook to find out who ‘Alex’ is, and she realised it’s Paul! Mandy was so shocked, and then jealousy kicked in – because all she’s heard from Vinny is how amazing this man is! Of course, Mandy knows the truth, and Paul is anything but amazing.”

After realising Paul has been masquerading as someone else to get closer to his son, Mandy sets up a cunning plan to play Paul at his own game…

“Mandy grabs Vinny’s phone when he leaves it on the coffee table at the Dingle house,” Lisa tells us. “She decides to set up a meeting with Paul via Vinny’s phone to make it seem as if it’s him. Then the shock happens, because when Paul turns up to meet Vinny, it’s Mandy who’s waiting for him!”

Vinny is so hurt that Mandy lied to him – and he storms out!”

Mandy pleads with Paul to leave the village for good, but he later turns up at the Dingle house to confront Mandy once again. Knowing that Vinny is due home from work at any moment, Mandy desperately tries to get rid of Paul. But that’s when Vinny barges in and Paul spills the beans!

“Initially, Vinny is so mad at Mandy – he just doesn’t know why she’d make it all up and say Paul wasn’t in the village,”

sighs Lisa. “Then he storms out, and Mandy sends Sam and Uncle Zak looking for him. No one knows where Vinny’s gone. It’s all hands on deck, true Dingle style, and obviously when he doesn’t come home, that is Mandy’s worst fear.”

With Vinny missing, can Paul and Mandy manage to put their differences aside to find him? Lisa says that’s unlikely…

“With Paul, what draws Mandy to him is his charm,” says Lisa. “He can switch it on and off like a light switch! Deep down, Mandy did love him more than anything, but I don’t think she can ever get over the pain that he caused. Hopefully as time goes on, Vinny will realise that Mandy only has his best interests at heart – that’s the main thing.”

Can Vinny forgive Mandy for her deceit? And will he start to build bridges with his dad?
