Tiffany leaps to her husband Keegan’s defence this week, after a customer mistakes him for a drug dealer! But her actions backfire when the person later returns and vandalises Keegan’s sandwich van in a revenge attack – putting the Butcher-baker marriage under even more strain…
“Keegan hasn’t had a lot to feel hopeful about lately – his business was the only thing keeping him going,” explains Maisie Smith, who plays Tiffany. “So when the van gets done over, that takes a massive toll on his confidence.”
The young newlyweds have been at loggerheads as a result of Keegan’s decision to post a video online to prove he’s innocent following his recent arrest. His actions have put detective Jack’s career on the line, while poor Tiff is stuck in the middle trying to support her husband and remain loyal to her uncle.
With Tiff at a loss over how she can patch things up, she tearfully confides in Keegan’s mum, Karen. Then when Tiffany surprises her hubby with a pair of his late friend Shakil’s old trainers, the ice begins to thaw.
“Keegan learned a lot from Shakil’s death, in that he started thinking about his life choices,” explains Maisie. “Tiffany giving him the trainers helps Keegan to realise what he stands for now, and it’s a really sweet moment.”
However, their happiness doesn’t last long. When it all kicks off between Keegan and his customer at the food truck, he’s furious with Tiffany for not giving him the chance to defend himself. Meanwhile, poor Tiff feels she can do no right.
“She’s just trying to help, but she makes the situation 10 times worse,” sighs Maisie.
“Ultimately, there’s nothing Tiffany can do for her husband, and that’s really sad.”
After Keegan is forced to tell Iqra that their truck is ruined and he never got round to sorting out any insurance, he pushes Tiff away and breaks down in Karen’s arms. Could this latest setback spell the end of their marriage?
