Sharon’s dad Gavin dies
BUT COULD A NEW MYSTERY MAN SIGNAL A FRESH START?
Sharon receives news that her biological father, Gavin Sullivan, has died this week – bringing her into contact with a handsome stranger.
Mystery man Zack Hudson is among the mourners at Gavin’s funeral, where Sharon struggles to hide her true feelings towards her despicable dad after she makes off with his ashes – and dumps them in the bin! However, it turns out that Zack wasn’t a huge fan of Gavin’s either, as he makes a scathing toast to him at the wake.
Just who is this enigmatic new bloke that Sharon already seems to have much in common with?
“Zack is an unpredictable troublemaker,” warns our Walford insider. “He had a difficult childhood that has left him determined never to rely on anyone, or become too attached – and it doesn’t take long before Sharon discovers his connection to Gavin. But is Sharon mentally prepared for what happens next?”
Prior to learning that Gavin has passed, Sharon finds herself at an emotional crossroads as she prepares to move out of the Vic and into Mick and Linda’s flat across the Square. Being at the helm of the pub again after so many years was Sharon’s chance of a new beginning following the end of her marriage to Phil, yet she’s faced with the prospect of starting all over again.
So, when Kathy gives her the news that Gavin has died, Sharon’s not in the best place. She wants nothing to do with her old man, even in death, and declares that he can rot in hell. However, after comments from Callum about his own father hit home for Sharon, she changes her mind and agrees to accompany Kathy to Gavin’s memorial service.
“Kathy and Sharon aren’t on the best of terms anyway, and the tension between them is only made worse once they are at Gavin’s wake, and talk turns to missing Ian,” shares our spy. “Sharon ends up telling Kathy that she was behind Ian’s attack!”
As Kathy reels from Sharon’s revelation, they are interrupted by Zack, who stands up before the congregation and makes a savage speech about Gavin. It’s after the crowd turns on him, and Zack makes his exit, that Sharon swipes her father’s urn and tosses it in the trash – only

to return to her car with Kathy and find Zack hiding inside!
As Kathy demands to know how Zack knew Gavin, will the angry young man fess up there and then? And how will Sharon – who ends the week on a sad note, packing up the Vic and feeling lonely – feel about the prospect of having a new man in her life?
