We’re back in Italy tonight, for more fun in the sun at the First Dates Hotel, as a new batch of British singletons check in to find love…
“The hotel’s a beautiful place, and everyone seems more open to romance there,” reckons waiter Grant Urquhart of the glamorous series, which was filmed pre-pandemic. “They’re swept away by the climate, the location and the amazing Italian food. Plus, the opportunity to spend more time together really intensifies the connection people can make. It’s so nice to see. There’s a classic series in store, and hopefully everyone watching will be excited to see a bit of sun!”
In tonight’s kick-off, we’ll meet Thalia – who has a phobia of kissing – on a date with shark-loving Essex lad Jack. There’s also 79-year-old widower Tony, who’s out for the night with fellow East Ender Lesley – and will horsemad Winston, who struggles for dates in his Wiltshire village, succeed in meeting his match? Grant and his gang of hospitality staff are on hand to support the daters, and we’ll also be reunited with kooky hotel manager Francesca, receptionist Michela and handsome waiter Francesco – while Fred Sirieix returns to the helm in the restaurant… “The work feels more relaxed out there, and that’s where the mischief comes in – although Fred keeps us in line,” grins Grant. “Although he’s also the joker of the team, with his cheeky smile!”
