Cleo’s shock reunion with Pete!
EASTER MONDAY HER CHILDHOOD ABUSER IS BACK…
Cleo is left shaken this week, when the man who groomed her, Pete Buchanan, returns to the village – but what, or who, has brought him back?
Cleo is on edge having been contacted by Pete, who has been released from prison after being sentenced for abusing her over four years ago. When Cleo confesses what’s going on to boyfriend Toby, he makes it his mission to track down Pete. However, as Toby starts his search, Cleo realises that Pete might be much closer to home…
“It’s fairly realistic that Pete would be out,” points out Nadine Mulkerrin, who plays Cleo. “He was sentenced to seven years in prison, and with good behaviour he’d be out in three-and-a-half – which is terrible! There is a restraining order out against him, but Cleo’s de nitely shaken and worried at the thought of bumping into him. And she’s also incredibly anxious about Toby looking for Pete, because she knows her boyfriend has a temper.”
With Toby trying to hunt down Pete, desperate Cleo turns to Toby’s sister Celeste for some advice.
“The two of them have a little bit of a friendship going on,” Nadine tells us. “I think
Celeste does put Cleo’s mind at ease a bit. But Cleo is so worried about it all so, to be honest, I’m not sure how much of it really gets through to her.”
However, later on, Cleo’s worst nightmare comes true...

And although at the time Cleo felt she and Pete were in love, Nadine assures as that Cleo now knows just what kind of a man he is. “Cleo’s learned that she was groomed from a young age,” explains the star. “She didn’t understand love – Pete was in a position of trust and he abused that. Cleo’s had therapy, so she doesn’t feel the same way any more. She sees him for what he is – a paedophile.”
After her encounter with Pete, Cleo is later shocked to learn the lengths Toby is willing to go to in order to protect her. Will he get his hands dirty to keep Cleo safe?
“It’s de nitely a possibility,” teases Nadine. “After all, Toby has killed once before, so maybe he could do it again.”
Will Cleo be able to push Pete out of the village herself? Or will Toby get to him rst?
