It’s important to highlight that it’s not something that will go away, but also that it can be managed. If medicated correctly, someone with bipolar can live a normal life.
Can you tell us about Cindy’s conversation with Mandy? She’s hurt Mandy kept a secret from her about Ella, but confided in Luke. It’s very emotional – Mandy opens up about her father’s abuse, then Cindy confides in her about her bipolar.
How worried is Cindy about Luke and his dementia? Cindy hides her struggle well, but Luke is her number-one priority, and she will do anything to help him. This is the one time in her life that she’s being totally selfless!
How is it working opposite Gary Lucy
(who plays Luke)?
They got it right with Cindy and Luke, the chemistry between them is so real, because I’ve known Gary for 20 years. It’s a shame – Gary and I agreed that Cindy and Luke would always kiss, hold hands or hug, and we can’t do that any more. I hope we can start snogging again soon!

I would love a wedding – however, not while we’re filming the way we are [with Covid restrictions in place]. The wedding day would need to be a grand affair – it would be Cindy’s sixth time, so she wouldn’t need
a rehearsal!
