alford favourite Alfie Moon will make an epic return – just as the love of his life Kat prepares to marry Phil Mitchell!
“EastEnders bosses are clearly pulling out all the stops to give viewers a blockbuster autumn, with Kat and Phil’s nuptials shaping up to be the wedding of the decade,” grins our Square insider. “Alfie’s reappearance is sure to throw a spanner in the works, while Phil’s soulmate Sharon could also be poised to storm the ceremony. But who will end up with who?

First things first: when did we last see Alfie – and why is he back?
Good question! Alfie’s marriage to Kat broke down in 2018 after she found out that he was the father of her cousin Hayley’s baby. Alfie then conned Phil out of £50k and left the money under a mattress for Kat to find. She returned the dosh to Phil – who’ll be baying for Alfie’s blood if he claps eyes on him!
So, are Alfie and Kat still in touch?
It would seem not, judging by the recent call between young Tommy and his dad. Alfie has no idea that Kat and Phil are an item, and still thinks that she’s shacked up with Kush (RIP).
Plenty of mischief, say Walford chiefs… “A lot has happened since Alfie’s been away from the Square, but wherever his floral shirts go you can expect fun, frolics and, of course, the odd porky-pie,” grins boss Chris Clenshaw. “We’re over the moon to have him home.”
How do you know that Alfie’s return will collide with Phil and Kat’s wedding day?
Well, Alfie’s comeback is scheduled for the autumn, while Kat and Phil have set a wedding date for 12 September. The timing couldn’t be better if you’re an EastEnders viewer, or worse if you’re the bride and groom!
What can we expect in the lead-up?

Is Kat really the one for Phil, though? He still loves Sharon!
We think Phil genuinely loves them both. It looked as though he was gravitating towards Sharon recently after she declared her love and they kissed – but the sight of his brother, Grant, calling Sharon’s phone sent Phil running back into the arms of Kat!
Yes, what about Grant? Could he be set to rock up? There’s been no official confirmation, but the fleeting mentions of him recently have given us cause to wonder!
How far might Alfie and Sharon go to win back their soul mates?
“In 2003, Alfie crashed Kat’s wedding to gangster Andy Hunter and got beaten up for his trouble,” our source reminds us. “But true love conquered all in the end… “Meanwhile, Sharon has already declared war on Kat, warning her love rival that she can have Phil back in a heartbeat,” continues our spy. “Something tells you that a toss of her long blonde hair and a flutter of those come-to-bed eyelashes is all it’d take…”
