What’s the best thing about working on Dalgliesh?
There are so many great things about working on the show! But probably the best thing is being fortunate enough to have such fantastic guest stars coming in all the time. And it’s so lovely to be in something that viewers are so passionate about, and enjoy.
Which TV shows have you been enjoying most recently?
I’m watching the new series of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which I adore. It’s escapism, beautiful, heartfelt and gorgeous, with such loveable characters. It’s the final series now and you just feel, what will we do without them? I finished The Last Of Us as well, which again is full of heart – but in a very, very different way!
Do you have any favourite comedy shows?
I’ve recently been watching
Ted Lasso and also the American version of The Office – I’m really late to that party! Steve Carell and the rest of the cast are so incredible, and awkward
– it’s cringe comedy, isn’t it?
How about the shows you loved growing up?
Well, I always really liked crime stuff when I was younger – watching reruns of Columbo, which I was utterly obsessed with. I also adored Inspector Morse and Jonathan Creek. I liked being a little detective in my teenage years! Even now I love it when Columbo’s on, it’s a calming, soothing thing for me.
Any shows you just chill out with?
Interior Design Masters with
Alan Carr – and the make-up series Glow Up. There’s something quite nice about watching other people be creative and do amazing things.
So are you a binge-watcher?
I binge-watched reality show The Traitors – I was addicted to it. There are also a few shows I’ve been watching that are still on weekly – I used to tune in every
Sunday night to watch Happy Valley.
If you could be in any programme, which would you choose?
I would love to be in Line Of Duty and be a bad police officer! It’s such an iconic show and it would have been really cool to be a part of that.
