New Corrie filming pictures reveal desperate times ahead for Gemma, after the mum is caught shoplifting a pair of shoes for her young daughter!
With five kids to clothe and feed – never mind a cost-ofliving crisis – Gemma and Chesney are feeling the pinch more than ever. However, for the struggling mum to resort to theft, her financial situation must be at breaking point…
“Gemma’s no angel, but deep down she’s a good person – and wouldn’t be doing this if she wasn’t desperate,” reasons our Weatherfield insider. “Llio needs shoes, and Gemma looks at her daughter – with her innocent little eyes – and knows that she can’t afford them. It breaks her heart.”
After Llio tries on a pair of diddy white sandals, Gemma is crestfallen at the thought of not being able to buy them.
However, we see her flying out of the shop, then being nabbed by a security guard and frogmarched back inside!
“If the store involves the police, Gemma’s in trouble,” sighs our source. “It's the last thing she needs. Chesney’s going to be fuming!”
