Charles stabs Ethan in the back this week, as he shops his own son to the police instead of giving him an alibi! Horrified to learn Ethan was behind Nicky’s accident and intends to lie to the cops regarding his whereabouts, Charles turns his back on him and watches the police drag his son away…
“There’s always that battle between Charles the vicar and Charles the father,” says actor Kevin Mathurin, who plays the conflicted father. “He wants to do right by his son, but righteously to do the right thing is to own up and face the consequences…”
Following the crash that left Nicky fighting for his life, Ethan is consumed by guilt after leaving his friend for dead at the roadside. As Nicky’s family gathers anxiously at the sickly lad’s bedside, Ethan struggles to mask his remorse.
It gets even worse when his family pile on the praise about his new job, but his father spots something is wrong…
“Charles knows his son really well and he knows something isn’t right,” shares the star. “He knows there’s something rattling him and he can’t quite figure it out. He coaxes it out of him.”
In church, Ethan confesses the terrible truth – that he was driving the car when Nicky’s accident happened. Charles can’t believe what he’s hearing, then he’s blindsided when his law-abiding son admits he’s going to lie to the police! Desperate Ethan begs his dad to give him a false alibi – but the vicar can’t bring himself to tell such a whopper…
Instead, Charles tells the police everything. When they

Kevin. “It’s not about whether or not Charles has done the right thing, it’s more about Nicky and that Ethan has committed the crime. They’re going to judge his family on that.”
