We are pleased to review this rather lovely 2022 calendar from our friends at Cross and Cockade International.

Each month of this delightfully colourful calendar depicts artwork of a range of First World War aircraft painted by a number of talented international artists who were commissioned for this work. The artists include Jim Laurier, J D Carrick, Chris Thomas, Ian Garstka, Seweryn Fleischer, Anastasios Polychronis, Graham Turner, Ivan Berryman, Steve Anderson, Russell Smith, Stanaslav Hajik and Vladim Slesarev.

As this is very much the season for buying calendars for the coming year, we really cannot recommend this highly enough. It will certainly look terrific on the wall of your office, study, ‘den’, workshop, library…or, wherever!

And, by buying the calendar, you will be contributing towards the maintenance of the British Air Services Memorial at St Omer, France, which was erected by the society in 2004 to commemorate the 8,000 British airmen who lost their lives in France and Flanders during the First World War.

Although the aircraft depicted throughout the calendar are varied in type and nationality, our eye was particularly taken by the page for June, depicting a stunning Fokker E.V by Anastasios Polychronis and it is one of the two months we illustrate in this review. .
