To mark the end of the

First World War Cen­te­nary, the Com­mon­wealth War Graves Com­mis­sion has launched its Road to Peace project, telling 120 sto­ries from among the 120,000 men and women who died dur­ing the fi­nal 100 days of the First World War. They in­clude Sid­cup-born Lieu­tenant Vi­vian Sut­ton, who joined the Hon­or­able Ar­tillery Com­pany in 1914. He died four years later, aged 22, af­ter serv­ing in Ire­land, France, Greece, Egypt and Pales­tine.
