JOBS TO BE DONE
Now is also an ideal time to plant roses. Avoid planting where roses have previously grown. Lightly prune bush roses to prevent wind-rock. Climbing roses can be pruned now too. Please the senses by bringing some potted herbs into the kitchen for easy use through winter. Pots of herbs will keep growing all winter in the warmth. Try chives, basil, sage or mint for fresh, flavourful seasonings. For a great spring display, grow some tulips in containers. Either mix with other spring bulbs or grow tulips on their own, packed closely together for greater impact.
