HAPPY 2018 GARDENERS
I have just read the article in Kent Life about my garden and I thought it was lovely. My friends and family have told us how well written it was and thought the photos were excellent. Both David and I are getting over our amazement at winning the Amateur Garden of the Year award. It means a lot to us. You are welcome any time you wish to come around to see us or the garden.
Many thanks for your help and for organising such a worthwhile competition to get people of all ages interested in gardening and in the enormous benefits gardening brings to health and life in general.
Sylvie Buat-Menard and David Sayers
Ed’s note: It was lovely to see you both – and all the other finalists – at the Garden Awards and I hope you enjoy the report and picture coverage on pages 146-148.
We just wanted to say thank you for the lovely Kent Life Garden of the Year high tea. It was great to meet some of the other finalists and to see the Hadlow College campus. We will definitely return to have a proper look at its gardens.
We very much enjoyed being part of the competition, and it was a special treat to meet all of the judges, both here and again at the awards.
Susie and Marc Beney, Wainscott, Rochester Colin and I so enjoyed ourselves at the Kent Life Antique Collector of the Year Awards. The crowning point of the evening was, of course, receiving my lovely trophy, which has pride of place in our sitting room. The cheque will certainly be put to good use; I am planning a trip to the Silver Vaults where they frequently have sets of both enamel and silver buttons for sale, hitherto out of my price range, so I will seek something lovely to buy.
