Sil­ver an­niver­sary for Stage­coach

Some 50 guests at­tended a cel­e­bra­tory din­ner at Can­ter­bury Cathe­dral Lodge to mark Stage­coach South East’s 25th an­niver­sary. Guests gath­ered for a drinks re­cep­tion in the Cam­panile gar­den be­fore en­joy­ing a three-course meal in the Clagett Au­di­to­rium. Since tak­ing over the East Kent Road Car Com­pany in 1993, Stage­coach has al­most dou­bled the fleet to 459 buses, in­vest­ing heav­ily in new ve­hi­cles with cleaner en­gine tech­nol­ogy to pro­vide greener travel. Stage­coach to­day car­ries more than 43 mil­lion pas­sen­gers a year, cov­ers 19 mil­lion miles an­nu­ally and em­ploys ap­prox­i­mately 1,300 staff across Kent and East Sus­sex.
