Sporting stars and 160 guests gathered at The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells for an evening of celebration to raise funds for Hospice in the Weald. The event, hosted by former Kent and England cricket captain Chris Cowdrey, raised £60,000. Chris chaired a lively question and answer session with Britain’s most successful Winter Olympian, Lizzy Yarnold, the winner of two skeleton racing gold medals, and TV tennis commentator Andrew Castle. Simon Lee, Chairman of the hospice, said: “The money raised enables our hospice to continue to provide care free of charge, now and in the future, for patients, their families and carers. It’s fantastic to be part of an evening that makes such a valuable contribution to our community.”
