High Sheriff of Kent Awards
The 2019 High Sheriff Awards took place at County Hall in Maidstone, where guests enjoyed tea and cakes in the Stone Hall before being welcomed to the ceremony by Josephine McCartney, CEO of Kent Community Foundation. She explained the key role of the Foundation in managing the High Sheriff’s Award Fund and KCF’s invaluable experience in introducing High Sheriffs to voluntary groups in Kent. The High Sheriff, Jane Ashton, gave a brief overview of her year visiting charities and, with law and order very much the High Sheriff’s remit, presented certificates and cheques to: FASD Awareness South East, No Walls Gardens CIC, Gifted Young Generation, Maidstone Street Pastors and Rubicon Cares. A High Sheriff Consort’s Award was presented by Hubert Ashton to RNLI Dover and RNLI Dungeness.
