A three-bedroom semidetached house priced at £299,995 is one of just a handful of homes remaining for sale at a Pentland Homes development at Folkestone.

The property, a Cheltenham house type is at Plot 91 at Scholars Village at Park Farm Road.

Around 90% of the 122 new homes are now sold at the development, which recently won a site award from the Considerate Contractors scheme.

A detailed planning application for 150 homes at a former Sittingbourne paper mill has been submitted to Swale council.

Abbey Developments wants to build a mix of two and three-bedroom terraced houses, apartment blocks and affordable housing.

There would also be a strip of landscaped open space, parking and a children’s play area.

The mill and water tower, off Mill Way, were demolished in 2012 to make way for a supermarket and new homes.

Morrisons was built and opened in 2013 but the rest of the plot has remained undeveloped, leaving neighbours, particularly those in nearby Charlotte Street, with unattractive views of mounds of rubble.

Now Abbey Developments has acquired the land and is pressing ahead with the project.
