Residents are giving their views on plans for a development of 840 homes off Hermitage Lane in Aylesford.

Cheshire-based Gladman Developments is promoting proposals to build an estate with a play area, covering 34 hectares on a triangle of land between the A20 and Barming Station. It proposes “significant improvements” to the Poppy Fields roundabout, and says it will provide land so the junction of the A20 and Hermitage Lane can be upgraded.

There would also potentially be space for a primary school and a doctors’ surgery.

Gladman has delivered nearly 500 leaflets to homes and businesses in the area this month to let people know about the proposals.

The New Allington Action Group has already made its views known, by raising a 1,000-strong petition against the proposals.

The site falls within the borough of Tonbridge and Malling.
