ALEX NEWMAN smashed his way to 189 not out as Hunton Wanderers beat Bapchild 3rds by 303 runs in 1B Central.

The Hunton opener hit 32 boundaries and he was well supported by Nigel Niblett (90 not out) and Ian Goodyer (62).

Wanderers closed on 368-3 and Bapchild crashed to 65 all out.

Holcombe & Blue Bell Hill 2nds skipper Kevin Shipton was also in the runs. Shipton’s 120 not out helped his side to 257- 4 at home to Littlebour­ne 2nds in 2A East. The visitors were bowled out for 116.

In 1B West, Adam Flynn picked up 5- 49 as Snodland Community restricted Old Elthamians 3rds to 188-7.

Snodland won the game by five wickets, with Tim Merry (96) helping them reach 192-5.

Mark Sandhu’s quickfire 73 was the highlight of Bearsted’s 236-9 at St Margaret’s in Championsh­ip East. But it wasn’t enough, as the home side won with 239- 6 from the penultimat­e ball of the match.

Meanwhile, Bearsted 2nds beat Holborough Anchorians 2nds in 2B Central.

Richard Luxton (73) helped Bearsted along to 142 in their innings and Holborough collapsed to 110 all out in reply.

There was a five-wicket haul for Rob Farlam in Leeds & Broomfield 2nds’ two-wicket win over Mersham Sports 2nds at Leeds Castle.

Farlam took 5-33 as Leeds bowled their visitors out for 122, before chasing down the victory target of 123 for the loss of eight wickets.

Kings Hill beat Yalding by 122 runs in 1B Central. Opening batsman Gary Jackson hit 10 boundaries on his way to 65 in Kings Hill’s total of 223- 6.

Yalding came up well short with the bat, bowled out for 101.

Stephen Boston’s 4-24 saw Snodland bowl out Cobham for 146 in their 1A West clash at home. But Snodland lost by 68 runs after crumbling to 78 all out.

Hunton Wanderers 2nds lost by 10 wickets after being dismissed for just 49 by Bobbing Court & Lower Halstow 2nds in 2B Central.

Elsewhere in the division, The Mote 4ths lost to Wilmington 2nds by two runs after being dismissed for 120 in pursuit of 123.

Holcombe & Blue Bell Hill 1sts restricted The Mote 3rds to 108-9 in 1A Central and then eased to a ninewicket win at 112-1. The Mote, Lordswood v Horton Kirby, Sheppey v Wilmington, Upchurch v Borstal.
