WHY spend two hours in a traffic jam going to the seaside, when the seaside can come to you?

Youngsters visiting the The Mall Chequers in Maidstone found the shopping centre decked out like Margate beach, complete with a Punch and Judy show. The centre, which said it felt its shoppers were in need of “a little summer sunshine” has also been running a seasonal gift promotion, with anyone spending £40 or more in the mall, receiving a free gift coupon.

The offer ends today (Friday).
