FINAL-year artists at Valley Park School have spent the week exhibiting their work in the school’s summer exhibition.

The five-day showcase began with a private viewing attended by more than 80 guests.

Miles Asserter, a senior visual arts director who worked on the Harry Potter film set, was one of the visitors, and made a speech about his love of art and design.

Gemma Johnson, head of art at the Huntsman Lane school, said: “The standard of work this year is amazing. Everyone is really impressed with the quality.

She said: “We’ve received a lot of interest from parents and members of the public and all the people who have visited are impressed by the variety of art.

“This is my first year as head of the department and the pupils have been great. I couldn’t have asked for more.”
