But could anyone take on the challenge of eating this massive burger and chips in 40 minutes?

The challenge was thrown down at Berry’s Eatery in Herne Bay, as part of the restaurant’s American diner weekend.

The prize for clearing the plate was that owners Gillian and Vanessa Berry would pick up the £20 bill.

The task in front of those with a big enough appetite was 2lbs of beef, eight rashers of bacon and cheese in a huge bun, plus a mountain of chips.

Nick Battson and Roger Heathcote stepped up to the plate on Saturday – but both were beaten barely half way through.
