Parking mystery

-

I VERY much agree with Trefor Jones (KM letters May 3 on parking fines. I’ve noticed that as soon as a delivery vehicle parks on the paved area of Jubilee Square, as it is now known, a traffic warden appears as if by magic to slap a ticket on it. Quite where delivery vehicles are supposed to park I really don’t know. Steve Ford, Willington Street, Maidstone MEANWHILE, Off The Record noted that Kent’s first Green county councillor Martin Whybrow appeared to have buckled to pressure to ensure sartorial standards are kept up at County Hall. Having tweeted his avowal not to wear a tie he turned up in a rather smart suit... and tie. Asked to account for his aboutturn, he emphasised it was a one-off and he had only done so because he had an important meeting – with the council leader, no less.
