Adrian makes podium in Monaco

-

ADRIAN QUAIFE-HOBBS recorded his first GP2 podium finish on Saturday after finishing second at Monaco.

The Tonbridge driver started race one from the back of the field after qualifying down in 26th.

However, when almost half of the cars crashed out, he crossed the line eighth.

On pole for the second race, Quaife-Hobbs eventually conceded the lead to Italy’s Stefano Coletti.

He settled for the runners-up spot and returns to action in the British Grand Prix event at Silverstone from June 28-30.

He said: “I am delighted to get my first podium, which after the disaster in qualifying, is a great result.”

SIX-TIME Olympic cycling champion Chris Hoy is heading to Brands Hatch this weekend as part of the MSVR Club Car Championship.

Hoy (pictured below) is Britain’s most successful Olympian but has switched pedal power for engine power in the Radical racing series. The Scot will be competing in the SR1 Cup while there will also be Radical action in the SR3 Challenge and Clubman’s Cup.

Brands will also host the F3 Cup for the first time.

Adult gate tickets are priced £13 and children 12 and under are admitted free.
