MICHAEL COLEMAN set a new course record at the Folkestone Coastal 10k on Sunday.

The 35-year-old, Medway and Maidstone athlete was running for South Kent Harriers and won the race in 32min09sec. That beat Phil Anthony’s 2012 time by 16 seconds.

Coleman finished almost two minutes ahead of runner-up Julian Lings (Enfield Harriers), who crossed the line in 33.45. Ashford’s Matthew Britton clocked 34.57 to finish third.

Maria Heslop ( pictured) was the first woman home in a time of 36.49, beating her winning time from last year. She beat clubmate Tina Oldershaw ( 37.40) into second, with Bexley’s Clare Reeves (40.02) third. The male team prize went to Ashford & District and Paddock Wood took the ladies’ team honours.
