WINDSURFING

A 12-YEAR-OLD windsurfer has been made an ambassador of the sport. Tom Cunningham, from Maidstone, is one of 16 youngsters selected by the Royal Yachting Association to promote their Team15 youth programme. Cunningham, a member of Bewl Water Vipers, said: “I love windsurfing because it’s fun and a great way to make new friends. I especially love the speed and excitement. “I would encourage other T15ers to practice as often as possible and to get involved in any training activities at their local club.”

GYMNASTICS

PEGASUS gymnasts impressed at the Horsham Invitational on Sunday. Amanda Cook won Level 4, with a superb floor routine the highlight. Josie Griffiths took the Level 2 title thanks to a new vault and an excellent floor routine. Isabelle Stockwell finished second in Level 5. While many gymnasts had more bonus moves, Stockwell showed the value of clean routines. Her best work came on floor and beam. Annabel Agba, Grace Miller and Emily Pearce were second, third and fifth respectively in Level 3.
