TOWN Malling are top of Kent Village League, Division 1 with two wins out of two after thrashing Bobbing Court by 148 runs. Jacob Smyth top scored with 88 in Malling’s total of 242- 4. Simon Uttridge then took 4-30 as Bobbing collapsed. Headcorn made their highest ever score in the Kent Village League. They closed on 295-1 against Loose with Rob Sparks unbeaten on 150 and Kevin Richardson 67 not out. The pair put on 186 for the second wicket after Ben Daking was bowled for 54. Sparks followed that by taking 3-9 as Loose were bowled out for 106, handing Headcorn a Division 2 win. Also in Division 2, Leybourne won by 61 runs at Brookland. Jake Rose led the way with 53 as the visitors made 154- 6. Stephen Boston (2-15) removed the openers with Brookland all out for 93. James Davison starred with bat and ball as East Malling beat Great Chart by 21 runs. He made 86 in Malling’s total of 172-7, then claimed 4-23 with Great Chart ending on 151-8. In Division 3, Detling beat Mersham le Hatch by 183 runs, helped by 86 from captain Barry Town in a score of 240-7. Luke Garety (5-21) led the attack as Mersham struggled to 57-7. Leeds & Broomfield are one of three teams with a 100% record in Division 5. Max Aitken made 66 in a total of 251- 6 against Teston. Peter Erlam replied with 72 not out but Teston closed on 161-8, beaten by 90 runs. Staplehurs­t lost to Stowting by 16 runs. Mark Jeffery took 3-26 as Stowting made 198-8. Chris Curran (47) and Sam McConnel (52) put on 91 for the first wicket but Staplehurs­t could only reach 182- 4. In Division 5, Linton Park suffered a five-wicket home defeat by Norton Sports after being restricted to 103-9. Steve Johnston scored the bulk of Harrietsha­m’s runs as they beat Boughtonun­der-Blean by six wickets in Division 6. He hit 86 as Harrietsha­m chased down 127 in just 25 overs. Offham cruised to a 10-wicket victory against Borstal. Tom Gittings (70) and Tom Evans (61) fired Offham to their 137 target. In Division 7, Hunton Wanderers beat High Halstow by 88 runs. William Turner took 2- 4 in seven balls for Town Malling in a seven-wicket win against Bobbing Court. Linton Park lost by six wickets against Herne.
