Five-wicket haul helps earn victory

FINE bowling from Tom Lane helped Hollingbou­rne 1sts to their second Championsh­ip East win of the season.

He took 5-25 as Bobbing Court & Lower Halstow were bowled out for 104, chasing the home team’s total of 192-7.

Bearsted 1sts struggled with the bat in their five-wicket defeat by Old Williamson­ians.

The visitors lost two early wickets and were bowled out for 94. Kris Hill took 2-12 but OWs knocked off the runs inside 20 overs.

Leybourne 1sts lost by eight wickets at Cobham in Division 1A West. Ashley Ulph top scored with 66 in Leybourne’s total of 169-7.

Opener Matt Barnes led The Mote 3rds to an eight-wicket victory with a knock of 65 not out that featured nine fours and three sixes.

Fellow opener Daniel Noden added 47 as The Mote chased down Wye’s 123- 6 in just 15.1 overs to claim their first Division 1A Central win this season.

Last pair Matt Daly (4 not out) and Jason Nye (7 not out) saw Snodland Community to victory in Division 1B West.

Nye took 3-21 as visitors Nurstead were bowled out for 131.

The reply slipped to 119-9 but Snodland edged home by one wicket.

Hunton Wanderers 1sts beat Holborough Anchorians by 104 runs in Division 1B Central.

Opener James Kidner top scored with 62 as Hunton made 184. Anchs were bowled out for 80 in 28 overs.

Kings Hill 1sts took the points after High Halstow conceded, while Yalding 1sts were bowled out for 129 and lost by 53 runs at Gore Court.

The Mote 4ths lost by one wicket at home to Sheppey in Division 2B Central.

Opener Jonathan Crowhurst hit 42 but the innings collapsed to 132 all out.

David Damen and Rhys Williams took three wickets each but Sheppey won with 15 balls to spare.

Hunton 2nds were bowled out for just 39 against Hartley, losing a low-scoring match by two runs, while Bearsted 2nds took the points after Cobham conceded.
