The charity this month is Spadework. Patronal Festival: This will be celebrated in the church this weekend from 11am-5pm and photographs of church events will be displayed along with some archive material with light lunches and teas served. On Sunday at 3pm, there will be an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in local history when Dennis Astridge presents an illustrated talk on the church and tickets will be available at £5, which includes a cream tea. A service will begin at 6.30pm. Fun fete: Last Saturday’s traditional Fete on The Green was well supported thanks to all the volunteers who helped make it such a success and the organisers wish to thanks them and all of the many visitors who came. Open Church: Most of those who come to Open Church on Tuesdays from 10am-noon and 2-4pm, do so regularly but there are the occasional people who attend. All are most welcome to enjoy a relaxing time talking to others with teas, coffees, cakes and sandwiches in the church. Parking services report: Church Road and Tovil car park were apparently not visited. The admin team would follow this up. Bollard at Reed’s cut-through: Potential fly tippers had been asked to leave the footpath. An additional bollard was still required to deter vehicles being driven into the footpath. Possible purchase of a new bollard would be on the July
