Rainfall this year so far is 272mm/ 10.7 inches. This year will be 13% above average. August was a warm wet month with a Central England Temperatur­e of 16.6 c/ 61.88 f, which is 0.5 c/ 0.9 f above average. I haven’t got Kent’s official mean temperatur­e yet, but August’s average is 17.28 c/ 63.10 f. Today (Friday): Another day of broken cloud with sunny spells. The South Easterly breeze will be a bit more prominent at 8 - 14mph. Temperatur­es will be at 19 c/ 66 f, but could be as high as 21 c/ 70 f locally. Tomorrow (Saturday): High pressure will now be replaced with low pressure. There will be a few showers first thing, then some brightness. There will be a heavier spell of rain early afternoon, then it will be fine but rather cloudy. Winds will be south westerly at 10 - 16mph with temperatur­es at 20 c/ 68 f at best. Sunday: It will be a day with a lot of cloud with some breaks. We should all see some sun. Winds will be south westerly at 12 - 16mph with temperatur­es a little lower at 18 c/ 68 f. Monday to Thursday: Our weather will be quite disturbed over the coming week with some heavy rain at times mixed with sunny spells. Winds may touch gale force in the Dover Straits on Tuesday. It will be a fairly blustery week for the south west. Feeling chilly by day at 15 - 17 c/ 59 - 63 f with a night average at around 10 c/ 50 f. Autumn has arrived.
