In October our usual Two sisters had their hair cut in aid of a children’s charity.

Gemma Sunnucks, 24, and her sister, St Augustine’s Academy pupil Mollie, 11, had their locks lopped off at the Bull Inn pub, East Farleigh, on bank holiday Monday.

The Barming pair donated their hair to The Little Princess Trust, which helps children affected by cancer by making wigs for children using real hair.

Their grandfather, David, passed away from the disease aged 42, meaning they never had the chance to meet him.

Their mum, Trudy, has also been fundraising, putting on a charity day at the pub and raising £220 for her friend, Donna Reynolds who also shaved her hair off for the charity.

In total, around £1,070 was raised for the charity.

Mrs Sunnucks, of Upper Fant Road, said: “It was Mollie who suggested they did this for charity. She wanted her hair cut before she started at her new school. Even though they never met my dad we still talk about him all the time.” meeting is on the second Tuesday (13).
