The run that took them to the Division 1 league and cup double last season ended with a 3-2 defeat by Maidstone Kestrels.

Two goals from Jim Withers gave Larkfield a 2-1 lead, having trailed inside five minutes. Kestrels punished sloppy defending for the equaliser and scored a late winner.

Steve Rawlings struck four times on his Marden return in a 7-2 win over Lenham.

He completed a first-half hat-trick from the edge of the area, with Jamie Humphries also on target as Marden led 4-2 at half-time.

Joe Smith and Joe Walker were the Lenham scorers.

Tom Jenkins was outstanding at the back as Lenham pushed hard in the second half.

Craig Haynes’ goal wasn’t enough to spare Lenham Wanderers Reserves a 2-1 defeat at Hollingbourne.

Phil Ogden finished Adam Clare’s throughball, followed by two goals from Dan Errey, including a 20-yard free-kick.

Karl Floyd made a superb penalty save to keep a clean sheet. New-look Parkwood Jupitors played like a team who’d been together for years.

They took control against Wateringbury Wanderers and were rewarded with an early goal from Michael Stevens, who went on to complete a hat-trick in the 4-1 win.

Brother Simon Stevens scored the other goal, while Wateringbury struck from the spot. Ashford Athletic marked their first game in the league with a 4-1 win over Aylesford Reserves.

Aylesford dominated early on but Athletic went in front when Jack Bundock rounded the goalkeeper.

Bradley Freund combined with Charlie Carolan and went through for Athletic’s second. Aylesford scored from the edge of the area but Bundock restored the two-goal lead when picked out by Tyrone Calveley, who wrapped things up with a fourth after Freund’s shot was parried.
