Medway athletes dominated the under-15 girls’ pentathlon in the Kent Combined Events Championsh­ips at Erith, writes Alan Newman.

Emily Feathersto­ne (Medway and Maidstone) is the 2015 champion with 2,709 points from Eleanor Wastell (Medway Park Phoenix) on 2,510 and the early leader, Ashleigh West (M& M), with 2,440.

Lauren Farley ( M& M) was fourth – 57 points off a medal – as West and Farley had best-ever scores.

Una Laqeretabu­a of Tonbridge won the under-17 heptathlon with a score of 3,903 (PB) and Harriet Day (M& M) is the new under-20 heptathlon champion (3,056 PB).

Claire Capon won the inaugural senior women’s decathlon (4,294) as the women tackled the same 10 events as the men for the first time. The men’s Parkrun 5k, various

org.uk and Maxim Hall (Dartford Harriers) in the senior decathlon (6,192) returned with golds for M&M and Maisie Rixon was the club’s most prolific medallist as three championsh­ip records were broken at Erith.

Lamplugh struck gold in the 70m hurdles (12.25sec) and was fifth in the 75m flat (10.81), while Donnelly went eight metres clear in the hammer (19.46m PB).

Rixon bagged silvers in the shot (7.67), long jump (4.38 PB) and high jump (1.46 PB) – 2cm shy of gold in both jumps – and was third in the 150m sprint (21.58). Alexandria BakerJones was fifth at 1,200m (4min20.50sec PB).

Jack Childs won 2,000m walk silver (10.59.71 PB) behind Alex MacHeath’s record for Cambridge Harriers (10.22.25).

Bashiri Ryan took silver in the 800m (2.22.76) and Steven Abbott bronze in the high jump (1.35 PB), while there were near misses for fourth-placed Luke Stringer in the 1,500m (4.54.19) and Jacob Wells in the 100m (13.69). An impressive turnout of 300 runners at Great Lines were organised into a commemorat­ive photograph to mark its 100th parkrun on Saturday. Rebel Runners Medway had 63 finishers, including Eloise Smith, who was first lady in 21min44sec. Lee Elam was Rebels’ first male home in eighth in 20.17.
