PARISH COUNCIL: The council met on November 9, to a packed agenda including discussion­s over planning applicatio­ns, and the use of the parish car park by cycling clubs. Cllr Goff also shared details of a meeting he had with Neil Gunn from the Environmen­t Agency. All councillor­s expressed their gratitude for the hard work Mr Gunn is putting into improving flooding issues for residents of the parish. Highways seminar: Cllr Goff attended a KCC Highways seminar in Pembury on November 9. The revised staffing structure of the KCC Highways team was explained and attendees could raise their own parish issues. A drive around the parish with the highways steward will be arranged soon, and this should allow councillor­s to be very specific about ongoing problems. Monthly tea party: The single pensioners of the parish were entertaine­d once again on November 11. This time they visited the lovely home of Jo and John Doctor. In addition to a delicious tea, they enjoyed viewing some of Jo’s colourful paintings which she had produced in her secret garden studio. Parish walk: The monthly parish walk will take place on Saturday November 28, starting from the church at the earlier time of 1pm, to allow for the darker evenings.
