Fishermans Arms beat Division 1 promotion rivals Whitehawks 4-2 in the first game of the new year.

Andy Martin sidefooted the Fish in front after Hawks failed to clear but despite creating several chances, it remained 1-0 until a Tony Wiles corner was glanced in by Tom Judges.

The Fish continued to press and went 3-0 up when Gareth Brooks fired a free-kick into the top corner.

Whitehawks started to test the Fish back four and pulled a goal back with a penalty.

But having got themselves back in the game, they gifted possession to Ali Simpson who added Fish’s fourth.

The scoring was complete before half-time, Judges’ spectacular own goal handing Whitehawks their second.

Whitehawks were better in the second half but Fish threw themselves in the way of everything.

Larkfield Green knocked Barming Youth off top spot with a 2-0 win over their promotion rivals.

Jason Parsons’ double was the difference for the new leaders as Barming dropped to third.

Steve Whitehead scored all the goals for Maidstone International in a 4-2 win over Snodland Town. A superb team performance saw off inform Town, whose scorers were Aaron Dawes and Harry Dawes.

A top v bottom clash in Division 2 went with form as Park Royal Reserves beat Sunday Stallions 4-0.

Mark Amondson slid in to finish Lee Parker’s ball across the six-yard box and it was Parker who added the second with a powerful header from a Dan Gray corner.

Amondson beat his man and sidefooted home the third after Dan Brown ran down the left and squared.

The final goal came in the last five minutes, Gray with a strike after a good move.
