Drink-drive bans for five motorists
Five drink-drivers have been handed bans by magistrates.
Ashley Read, of Leicester Road, Maidstone, was banned for 22 months after being found more than twice the legal limit.
The 24- year- old, who was stopped while driving a Ford Fiesta in Tonbridge Road, was also fined £300 with £265 charges after giving a breath test reading of 87 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
Louis Spratt was stopped in King Street and gave a breath test reading of 66 micrograms.
The 22- year- old, of Tudor Road, Kennington, Ashford, was banned for 18 months and ordered to pay £375.
Toni Todorov, of Redwall Lane, Maidstone, was found to be under the influence when stopped in a Ford Fiesta along Sutton Road.
Todorov, 31, whose breath test registered 68 micrograms, also pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention.
He was disqualified from driving for 18 months and must also pay £585 in fines and fees.
Petro Kichkov gave a reading of 116 micrograms of alcohol – more than three times the limit – when stopped in his van in Lower Stone Street.
The 32-year-old, of Priory Road, was handed a two-year ban, ordered to do 60 hours of unpaid work and pay £145.
Christopher Freeman was disqualified for 18 months after recording 82 micrograms in Lime Grove, Hawkhurst.
The 25-year-old, of the village’s High Street, must also pay £525.
