The South East was cool and wet with 20% above average rainfall. Frittenden had 2.60 inches of rain in May. The average is 1.95 inches. This week, Kent has been seeing its warmest days since May 9. There are to be many celebratio­ns throughout Kent for the Queen’s 90th birthday. The Queen is notorious for picking days of poor weather for her events, I’m sorry to say that she has done so again. Today (Friday): Low pressure is in charge, and it will be an overcast day with rain at times, but possibly brighter later in the day. Winds will be south westerly at 8-12mph. Temperatur­e 19C (66F). Tomorrow (Saturday): A showery day throughout, but there will be some nice sunny spells between the showers. The humidity will be completely gone. There will be a westerly wind of 7-12mph. Temperatur­es 17C (63F). Sunday: There will be a gradual improvemen­t during the day with some sunny spells in the afternoon and evening. Winds will be westerly at 5-10mph with temperatur­es at a cool 17C (63F). Monday to Wednesday: It will be cool at times, quite breezy from the west, turning north westerly at times. There will be some heavy spells of rain but with some sunny spells. It will be decidedly chilly for mid-June at 14-16C (57-61F). The average for this time of year is 20C (68F). Thursday: Signs of improvemen­t as high pressure starts to develop. The weather will warm up to 19C (66F) with more sunshine.
