His magnificen­t haul come from 5.1 overs and saw his side win their Division 2 match against Mersham le Hatch by 166 runs.

Mersham were bowled out for 96 in reply to 262-7 from Linton, a total built around 96 from opener Jordan Austin.

Luke Garety made 86 not out for Detling but they closed on 209-8 in reply to 286-2 from Wye, beaten by 77 runs.

Leeds & Broomfield are off the mark in Division 1 after a seven-wicket success.

They restricted Great Chart to 194-8 in 40 overs, Rob Farlam with 3-30.

Opener Dominic Smith (73) played the key innings as Leeds won with more than 10 overs to spare.

Bearsted lost to Division 3 high-fliers Stowting by 115 runs.

Mark Sandhu and David Patton took three wickets each but Stowting reached an imposing 248-8.

Paul Manktelow (46) and Andrew Dampier (44) hit several boundaries but Bearsted could only reach 133- 8.

Ryan Chandler made 41 in Staplehurs­t’s total of 181- 8 but they lost to Frindsbury by nine wickets.

A stand of 208 for the opening wicket led Hunton Wanderers to a third straight win at the top of Division 4.

Dan Taylor was first man out after making 88 from 108 balls in partnershi­p with Jack Crouch, who went on to top score with 120 off 111 deliveries, including 13 fours and five sixes.

Hunton closed on 255- 4 and won by 65 runs after 4-33 from Taylor saw Horton bowled out for 190.

A batting collapse ended Harrietsha­m’s hopes in an 18-run defeat at Kingsnorth.

Alex Hubble (65) and Usman Ijaz (56) were going along nicely after an early wicket but no one else reached double figures as the visitors were bowled out for 170 in reply to 188- 6.

Blue House claimed their first win in Division 5.
