The Mote fall short again

The Mote have slipped to fifth place in Division 1 after back-to-back defeats.
Spinner Will Thirkell took 3-30 as opponents Linden Park closed on 216-8 last Saturday.
Thirkell made 69 coming in at No.7 but The Mote were bowled out for 193 in reply, beaten by 23 runs.
Leeds & Broomfield lost to Division 3 bottom-side Minster by 12 runs.
They had the Islanders in trouble at 20-3, bowling them out for 183 thanks to 5-30 from Monte McCague.
Several Leeds batsmen made starts but the reply fell short on 171.
In Division 4, Offham suffered a final-over defeat against Old Williamsonians.
Ben Gittings made 89 not out from 90 balls, with seven fours and five sixes, as Offham closed on 220-3. OWs completed a three-wicket victory with three balls to spare.
Addington Village missed the chance to go above opponents Old Colfeians.
They remain third-bottom in the table after being held to 163- 8 in a sevenwicket defeat. Harry Grinstead (3- 42 in 15 overs) bowled well for the villagers.
In the 2nd XI league, Matt White’s half-century helped The Mote to Division 1 victory over Linden Park.
He made 63 in a total 223-5, his side winners by 42 runs after holding Park to 181- 5.
Addington Village suffered a heavy defeat at home to Minster.
They slipped to 70 all out in reply to 266-5, beaten by 196 runs.
In Division 5, 10-man Offham were bowled out for 98 by a Bapchild side who won by nine wickets.
