lester.gosbee@btinternet.com We have had a run of cold frosty nights for about three weeks, making this November’s Central England Temperature the lowest since 1993 when it was 4.6C (40.28F). This November the CET was 5.6C (42.05F). Our jet stream has been wafting up some exceptionally mild air, which will stay with us throughout the coming week. On the down side, it will often be cloudy and we will see some rain at times. Today (Friday): Another frost free night, followed by a rather overcast day. The brightest of the weather will be over North Kent and Thanet. High pressure will continue through the week close to Kent. Winds will be southerly at 7-12mph with temperatures mild at 12C (54F). Tomorrow (Saturday): In spite of the pressure remaining fairly high, it will be an overcast day with some spells of rain at times. It will be quite breezy from the south west at 9-18mph. Temperatures will be 11C (52F). Sunday: The best day of the weekend. It will be a cooler start at 3C (37F) in the countryside. There will be a good deal of sunshine in light north westerly winds 6-10mph with temperatures close to average at 9C (48F). Monday to Thursday: Kent will have the driest of the weather next week. The wettest day looks like it will be Tuesday, but only a few millimetres of rain, and not all day. It will be mostly cloudy, and breezy at times, but there will be some limited sunshine most days. Winds may fall light enough for local coastal fog to form. Midweek overnight temperatures will be at 8-12C (46-54F). The nights will remain frost free.
