K Sports have stepped up their promotion push with three new signings. Jack Healey scored on his debut after joining from Leatherhead as Sports beat Lewisham Borough 6-2 in Southern Counties East Division 1 on Saturday. They’ve also brought in defender/ midfielder Tom Carr from Chatham, while former Maidstone favourite Richard Sinden has signed forms and will turn out when he can. Sports boss Kris Browning said: “They’re three good signings to bolster the squad. “They know we’ve got one eye on promotion and where we’re trying to get as a club. We’re up to third and we’ve got half a toe in the door.” Caine Smith and Sam Butterworth scored as Sports twice hit back from behind to make it 2-2 at half-time. Smith converted two penalties, following fouls on Joe Lewis and Ed Morant, to complete his hat-trick and give Sports a 4-2 lead. Healey made it five before Lewis capped a man-of-the-match performance with No.6. Sports go to Holmesdale tomorrow (Saturday) and Forest Hill on Wednesday. David Sherwood scored for Snodland Town in a 1-1 draw at Eltham Palace. They host Forest Hill tomorrow. Bearsted won and lost in the Premier Division.
