Templeuve: The Templeuve and Hollingbou­rne Twinning Associatio­n has invited residents to spend June 24-25 in Templeuve. If you are interested notify any member of the twinning associatio­n of your interest. Councillor­s’ surgery: The parish council will be holding a councillor­s’ surgery alongside the pop-up shop and cafe on Saturday, April 15 from 9.30am-noon. Correspond­ent: Hannah Qureshi Interpreta­tions exhibition: The MVAN (Maidstone Visual Arts Network) group of artists showcase works under the title Interpreta­tions, with each artist varied in their materials. Several are painters, whether in oils, acrylics or mixed media, while others use textiles and/or paper to make three-dimensiona­l pieces. Their works also vary from imaginativ­e landscapes to abstracts, work from life, or dream material. All express a mood, feeling or atmosphere, often through metaphor, which they hope viewers will interpret in terms of their own experience. The exhibition will run from until Sunday April 23 at the Maidstone Museum, St Faith’s Street. URC events: The Maidstone United Reformed Church, situated in Week Street, hosts the following regular events. Monday-Wednesday, 10am-noon coffee morning. Hi Kent: The deaf charity Hi Kent is looking for volunteers to work in its shop in Week Street, mainly on Thursdays and Fridays but would be grateful for any time you can spare during the 10am to 3pm opening hours. No previous experience is necessary as full training will be given and travel expenses paid. Hospice group travel: The Heart of Kent Hospice is providing a calendar of hassle free day trips to gardens, cities and places of interest. The aim is to make each trip as easy and enjoyable as possible, with travel, entrance fees and, where mentioned, refreshmen­ts included in each booking. The talk will be given by Dr Andrew Ashbee on Thomas Fletcher Waghorn of Chatham and Snodland. Thomas Waghorn was a postal pioneer. The group have re-opened the excavation of a series of Roman buildings at East Farleigh on Sundays.
