Marden walks: On Saturday, June 24, Marden walkers will be meeting at the library at 2pm for their annual walk and tea party at a Marden Countrysid­e Estate. Call Catherine if you would like to go along. On Wednesday, June 28, the walkers are invited to join in the Marden Society visit to Peter Hall’s farms. Meet at 2.30pm at Mill Farm, behind the strawberry stall, for a one hour walking tour. Peter will be showing the work he is doing to promote wild life and his water catchment project. School summer fair: The village school presents its annual summer fair and pet show on Saturday June 24 from noon-4pm on the parish field. There will be something to interest the whole family, with a bouncy castle, games, bar and barbecue, plus a raffle with amazing prizes. For pet owners the star attraction may well be the pet show. Fun categories, such as Anything But a Dog, Trampiest Tramp and Most Handsome Hound should create loads of fun, so go and show off your pet. Summer hor Roast: Tickets are available at Yalding surgery for the Friends of Yalding Surgery summer hog roast to be held on Sunday, July 2 from noon-6pm at Mill Place in Symonds Lane. A delightful occasion in a beautiful setting. Tickets cost £12.50 per adult and £5 for six-15 year olds. Under fives go free. Entrance is by ticket only. Profits all go to the surgery, to fund equipment to support patient services.
