PARISH COUNCIL: Action was in hand to repair the damaged seat in the bus shelter in Heath Road. The gate spring at the lower entrance to the village hall play area would be repaired as soon as possible. Litter picking parties were being organised during the coming months in an effort to smarten up the village. Action would begin over the summer to re-furbish the street furniture in the village centre. The parish council was studying the MBC consultati­on on its Low Emissions Strategy and would respond accordingl­y. KCC was consulting residents and representa­tive bodies on revised opening hours at Coxheath library. Saturday opening hours may be adjusted to 9am-1pm. Planning. The next meeting of the planning committee is on Thursday August 24 at 7.30pm in the parish office at the village hall site. Anybody with an interest in any of the applicatio­ns to be discussed, which will be on display in the library, is welcome to attend. Church Fete: The fete will be held on Saturday, September 2, from 1-30pm-4-30pm on the grassed area around the church. Music, strawberry teas, BBQ, local produce, raffle, tombola, crockery smash, coconut shy plus many more games and stalls. Family Fun Day: Golding Vision, the community arm of Golding Homes, has arranged a family fun day for Saturday, September 2 from 10am-1pm at Lockmeadow, Barker Road. Magic show, bouncy castle and free ice cream for every child.
