Jelf makes quick return to action

Team manager Colin Jelf returned to action for Jelf Racing just four weeks after being involved in a serious collision. He set the fastest time in qualifying at the Powerboat GP RYA British Sprint Championships, where the team were fighting for five national titles. However, engine problems forced Jelf to settle for fourth in heat one and bad weather forced the other races to be cancelled. George Elmore claimed his first sprint title by winning both heats after taking pole position in qualifying. In the GT30 class, Jonathan Brewer won the first heat but missed out in the second and walked away with a silver medal. Nigel Edwards also took silver in the T850 monohull class, as did Ben Jelf in his F4 catamaran. Ben Jelf said: “We’re all happy with our silverware and super proud of George but the highlight for us all was seeing my dad back out on the water and in front in qualifying where he belongs. “It’s been a difficult few weeks for all the team but we’re stronger together. We’ll celebrate these results.”
