Both Kent’s restaurants with Michelin stars have retained them.

Details of the eateries included in the exclusive Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2018 were revealed at a live event at The Brewery, Chiswell Street, London, on Monday lunchtime.

The award-winning Sportsman in Faversham Road, Seasalter, between Faversham and Whitstable, which is run by brothers Phil and Stephen Harris, has held a Michelin star since 2008 and retains its star again this year.

The West House at Biddenden, which is run by Graham Garrett, has had a Michelin star since 2008, and retains it this year.

More than 3,000 places to eat and sleep are recommended in The Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland, including restaurants and pubs awarded Michelin stars for the quality of their food and Bib Gourmands, awarded to eateries offering particularly good value. Pet owners are being advised to be on their guard after a young cat was found mutilated on a driveway.

A critical care paramedic made the gruesome discovery after leaving her home at 8am last week in High Street, Ramsgate.

After speaking to friends she learned the Croydon cat killer could be responsible and contacted animal welfare group, South Norwood Animal Rescue (SNARL).

The group is working with the RSPCA and the Met Police into the killings which are believed to be more than 300.

The woman said the injuries sustained by the animal were horrific.

SNARL founder Tony Jenkins confirmed his team had visited the premises and there will be a post mortem.

He said: “At the moment we are linking it to the other killings.”
