Teaming up to go a cut above

Kent Messenger Maidstone - - NEWS -

Two cancer survivors teamed up to raise more than £200 for MacMillan Cancer Support after combining a coffee morning and head shave.

Lucie Shoer, of Retro 47, in Mangravet Avenue, and Stephen Young met by chance as he looked for somebody who could lop his locks off.

Cakes were on sale and Mr Young had his hair cut at the hairdressers and they raised £207 for the charity in total.

Lucie said: “I had breast cancer and Stephen was a cancer survivor and had raised money. We thought we had too much food but it all went.

“It was a complete fluke I met Stephen. He wanted to do Brave the Shave for MacMillan and he came in looking for someone to do it for him. He had never been in before but we said we were doing the coffee morning and we would do it then.”
