Mercedes clocked do­ing 100mph

An unin­sured and un­li­censed Mercedes driver who was caught do­ing speeds of more than 100mph has been slapped with a ban.

An­drew Maltby was clocked trav­el­ling at 101.74mph for a 1.5mile stretch of the M20 near Len­ham last Oc­to­ber.

The 47- year- old, of Ruf­fets Wood, Gravesend, ap­peared be­fore mag­is­trates in Med­way ear­lier this month where he pleaded guilty to speed­ing, driv­ing with­out a li­cence and with­out in­sur­ance.

He had pre­vi­ously de­nied the of­fences at an ear­lier hear­ing.

Maltby was dis­qual­i­fied from get­ting be­hind the wheel for 56 days and fined £400 for the speed­ing of­fence.

He was also or­dered to pay £500 for driv­ing with­out in­sur­ance, £100 for driv­ing with­out a li­cence and charged £150 in var­i­ous court costs.
